Because the first man and woman, Adam and Eve, decided to disobey God and obey the prince of darkness, Satan (Genesis 3, Ephesians 6:12), mankind has been plunged into spiritual darkness. 

Jesus Himself affirms this in John 3:19,20 and says that “men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil” and “everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.” 

But thanks be to the Lord Jesus Christ, who cannot be overcome by darkness (John 1:5), declares in John 8:12 that “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

And this same Jesus, who gives the gift of salvation to us who believe in Him, calls us to be “the light of the world” in Matthew 5:14-16, which is the inspiration behind this Heavyweight Cotton tee. If we want to see souls saved and people brought out of the darkness into the marvelous light of Christ, we must reflect His Light (Ephesians 5:8-12; Philippians 2:14,15 & 1 Thessalonians 5:4-8).
